Conn’s HomePlus has filed for bankruptcy and is closing 71 of 170 Conn’s HomePlus stores. The Texas-based company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on Tuesday. Conn’s Inc. has more than $2.4 billion in total assets and $1.9 billion in total debts, court paperwork said.
