Scottsdale-based HonorHealth, which has been growing its presence throughout metro Phoenix, is expanding its geographical footprint into the southeast Valley with a $250 million investment.

The nonprofit health system announced Sept. 11 that it has agreed to assume operational control of several Arizona hospitals and physician practices currently owned by Dallas-based Steward Health Care, which filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy restructuring in May with plans to sell off its 31 hospitals across the country.
