Famed fashion house Balenciaga has opened its first North Carolina retail location in Charlotte. The store opened Friday, Oct. 18 at the SouthPark Mall on Sharon Road. It takes up a space of just under 4,000 square feet on the upper level between Belk and Nordstrom. Men’s and women’s ready-to-wear luxury clothing, shoes, bags, accessories, eyewear, jewelry and accessories will be available along with exclusive items. Balenciaga’s first ateliers was founded in 1937 in Paris by Cristóbal Balenciaga. There are only 40 stores in the United States.
