California-based, Serverfarm, enters Texas market with 250-acre data center acquisition

California-based Serverfarm is developing two data centers near George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) that will have over 500 megawatts of capacity between the two facilities. Serverfarm announced Sept. 11 that it acquired the HOU1 and HOU2 data center buildings. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the acquisition marks Serverfarm’s entry into the Texas market. The acquisition was funded by equity commitments from Serverfarm’s majority shareholder, Manulife Investment Management. The seller was advised by Kristina Metzger of CBRE Data Capital Markets, and Serverfarm told the Houston Business Journal that it handled its own representation.
