A 300-room hotel is the first structure taking shape at the Universal Kids Resort at the northeast corner of the Dallas North Tollway and Panther Creek Parkway in Frisco. Besides the hotel, there will be rides, shows, and a range of restaurants and shops.

The Dallas Business Journal reports contractors have also prepared foundations for a possible SpongeBob SquarePants-themed structure, dug trenches for a planned water ride and paved a new six-lane road connecting Dallas Parkway to Panther Creek Parkway, Orlando Park Shop reported recently.
